How to use the Sweet Retro Queen
Left: Sound wave reflected from the bare wall. Right: sound wave absorbed by the acoustic absorber placed on the wall.
Clarity Starts with Absorption
Ever notice that distracting echo in a large room? That's uncontrolled sound waves bouncing off hard surfaces. Absorption panels are the most critical tool for managing this. They soak up sound waves, preventing reflections and instantly creating a comfortable, clear environment.
Once you experience your favorite music or film in an acoustically treated space, you'll never go back.
Woody Queen: Professional Comfort for Every Room
The Woody Queen is a handcrafted, highly effective absorber that delivers both acoustic clarity and a classy aesthetic. Simply installing a few panels on the interior walls will significantly shorten sound decay time, resulting in a more immersive and pleasant listening experience.
Great acoustics aren't just for pros. They improve well-being, reduce stress, and make everyday activities—like chatting with friends or working from home—much more enjoyable.
Choosing the Right Depth
A key principle of absorption is simple: the deeper the absorber, the better it handles low-end frequencies.
Decorative (5 cm thickness): Ideal for retaining sound liveliness while eliminating mid and high-frequency flutter. Perfect for your home theatre, listening room, or office.
Performance & Performance Bass (10 & 15 cm thickness): Necessary for controlling deep low-end frequencies. Essential for home studios and professional music spaces.
Acoustics is straightforward, but placement matters. Check out our home studio guide for maximizing your results, or just send us a message—we're here to help you get the most out of your panels.
FAQ
Can you make me absorber in different colors or sizes?
We always go the extra mile to ensure our acoustic solutions suit the specific needs of our clients. Send us a description of what you’re looking for including the required design and dimensions. We will do our best to come up with the best possible solution.
How many absorbers do I need in my studio or at home?
In a good music studio or rehearsal room, acoustic panels need to cover at least 50 % of the wall area, with absorbers playing the major part. In a home listening room or home theatre, they should occupy at least 20 % of the wall area, while large commercial spaces such as offices and restaurants typically require a custom solution.
Where do I place the absorbing panels?
The very first thing to do is cover the first reflection points on the walls between the source of sound and the listening position. That way you eliminate early reflections. If you don't do this, the sound waves will bounce off the walls and interfere with the direct waves from the speakers, resulting in a sound that’s not clear and balanced. Check out our guide to find out more.
Does this absorber work like the foam tiles/pyramids?
Our Woody absorbers work more effectively compared to conventional foam tiles and pyramids. That’s because we use PET felt insulation (recycled plastic), which boasts greater effectiveness at low frequencies (below 1 kHz), resulting in more sound energy being absorbed. Furthermore, foam pyramids usually fail to contribute to a reflection-free zone at the listening position.
