Sports hotel - dining room

Do you know what happens when 30 kids gather in the acoustically untreated dining room of a sports hotel? You can imagine: a lot of noise and echoes from all the chit-chat and clinging cutlery.

The dining room had a reverberation time RT60 of more than 2.5 seconds. This meant that the sound took too much time to dissipate inside and it caused an unpleasant environment for the diners.

It doesn’t seem like it, but it improved the acoustics of the room incredibly. We now use the dining room as a presentation room as well.

By adding 20 square meters of absorption material on the sidewalls, we lowered the RT60 to 0.8 seconds, which is an excellent time for the dining room.

The absorption panels now prevent noise from bouncing off the bare walls and the room is now also used as a presentation room thanks to the pleasant acoustical properties.
